Criminal Investigations

                                                  Criminal Investigation Division 

The Springfield Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division consists of five (5) Detectives. This division investigates all crimes against persons and property including homicides, auto theft, burglaries, sex crimes and crimes against children. Four Detectives are assigned to personal and property crimes and one Detective is assigned to sex crimes and crimes against children. The Criminal Investigation Division works close with other Local, State and Federal agencies as well as the Department of Children’s Services. 

The purpose of the Criminal Investigation Division is to enhance the quality of life for the citizens of Springfield. Our detectives have been through countless hours of specialized training and have the knowledge and experience to provide the best service possible to our citizens. Our services will promote growth and development within our community through effective criminal investigations and the apprehension of criminal offenders.
