Police Department Employment Information

Entrance Requirements:
 
Minimum 18 Years of Age
U.S. Citizenship
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Valid Tennessee Driver License at time of Employment
Good Physical Condition Good Moral Character
Criminal Background Investigation
Military discharge, if applicable, must be under honorable conditions
Fingerprints on file with Tennessee Bureau of Investigation
Successfully pass physical exam conducted by a licensed physician
Pass a urine drug-screen
Have good moral character as determined through an extensive background investigation
Free of any mental disorders
Successfully pass a polygraph examination'
Preference to state certified police officers in Tennessee or experienced as a police officer in another state
Must be willing to work different shifts, weekends, and holidays

Salary and Benefits:    

Starting patrol salary $31,512 Annually
Starting salary may be increased for College Education, Law Enforcement Certification and/or
increased starting pay considered if prior police officer experience
Patrol Officers work 12 hour shifts
Full uniform and equipment issuance including body armor and firearm
Overtime at 1 1/2 pay
Paid training (state required and department approved)
Take home car within Robertson County
