June is National Fishing Month. The Parks and Recreation Department in partnership with Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) hosts a Free Fishing Rodeo for children 14 years of age and under at J. Travis Price Park.
The fishing rodeo is early June each year. Participants are must bring their own gear and bait - no artificial lures allowed. TWRA stocks the pond with catfish, bream, sunfish and other small fish for the event. Registration begins at 6:30 AM your child may catch the big one this year.

Freedom Celebration & Fireworks
Enjoy the free fireworks show at J. Travis Price Park, 4155 Wilks Rd, Springfield. Gates open at 4:00 PM.
Summer Concert Series
J. Travis Price Park is the location for free summer concerts Thursday evenings. Dates and artists to be announced. Each evening features a different musical genre, so bring a lawn chair and enjoy.
Admission is free for this event. Follow the lighted trails at J. Travis Price Park to enjoy the festive holiday scenes, decorations, music and maybe catch a glimpse of Santa Claus. This event is best by following the lighted trails. You will still be amazed by viewing from your vehicle if you are unable to follow the path.
